Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway at Milwaukee’s Pabst Theater with Chatham Rabbits – Photo Recap

Photos and Review by Stephen Bloch

What makes Milwaukee famous is undeniably its beer.  What also makes it famous is its love affair with Americana, in particular, bluegrass.  It seems that every week there are multiple opportunities to catch one of the varieties that’s flowing.  On Thursday night, the historic Pabst Theater (yes, the beer namesake) played host to one of the rising stars of the bluegrass world, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway.  This is not a run-of-the-mill bluegrass band or modern hippy grass, it’s a jaunt through all forms of the genre while even taking the psychedelic sounds of The Rolling Stones and Jefferson Airplane on a roll.  Tuttle is a versatile guitarist with a stellar band backing her up on songs about middle America and the open road.  She definitely leans hard into fun loving tracks about cannabis, which gets the crowd roaring.  Chatham Rabbits, the charming husband and wife duo from North Carolina, had opening duties. The Down the Rabbit Tour is a must see for any fan of Americana/Bluegrass.
