A joyous night of southern rock ‘n’ roll was had on Father’s Day in Georgia. At the greater Atlanta venue of Ameris Bank Ampitheater, Atlanta’s own The Black Crowes were supported by another ATL rock outfit Drivin N Cryin in the sweet summer heat.
Chis and Rich Robinson played a full set of Black Crowes (featuring Blackberry Smoke’s Charlie Starr), including their debut record, Shake Your Money Maker, in its entirety as well as a couple of phenomenal performances of “Wiser Time” and “My Morning Song.” Drivin N Cryin’s Kevn Kinney and Rick Richards of The Georgia Satellites also joined the band for their encore of Velvet Underground’s “Rock N Roll”.
What a night for music in one of the best outdoor venues in the Southeastern USA! So much Georgia music pride in the air!
