If you want to go see a live show and leave in a better mood, we recommend seeing Anderson .Paak live. In addition to his ability to rhyme, the dude can slay the drums, dance, and carry a tune… all with a pearly smile. The fact that he manages to perform on a drum riser and then casually spit three verses without seemingly breaking a sweat is amazing.

Likely many more heard about him after Silk Sonic, his collaboration with Bruno Mars, made waves at the Grammy’s and reintroduced the world to the smooth sounds of the 70s. I was lucky enough to catch one of his Silk Sonic shows in Las Vegas, and it was an unbelievable time. What I really took away was how insanely talented, and just cool as a cucumber, Anderson .Paak was.

When he ended his tour at Atlanta‘s Lakewood Ampitheatre, the October crowd was on their feet and ready for an uplifting Sunday evening. The tour consisted of him performing his seminal album Malibu in its entirety alongside his fantastic band, The Free Nationals. So many highlights throughout the night including “Heart Don’t Stand a Chance”, “Put Me Thru”, and “Come Down” all come to mind. The accessible yet complex musicality of .Paak’s shows really appeals to fans of jazz, top 40 pop, and all things in between.
