The energetic sounds of Portland-based Fruition resonated through Union Stage at The Wharf in Washington, DC on September 18, 2024. Jacob Anderson’s excitement was evident as he shared, “We are excited to be back in DC. We love playing at the Union Stage. Great spot. They treat us well. Great sound. Great Room.”

The evening showcased the band’s dynamic lineup: Jay Cobb Anderson on electric guitar and vocals, Kellen Asebroek handling piano and acoustic guitar, Jeff Leonard providing solid bass lines, Mimi Naja on mandolin and electric guitar, and Tyler Thompson keeping the rhythm on drums.

Fresh off a new release, Anderson was particularly enthusiastic about sharing their latest work: “We just released a record last month. It’s called How to Make Mistakes. We’re very chuffed on it. Other than that, we’re on the road for a longer period than we have in quite a long time. So it feels good to be out playing the new music, and hopefully, folks who come out and check it out.”

The performance featured an impressive mix of new material and fan favorites, demonstrating the band’s musical versatility as they moved seamlessly between upbeat, danceable tunes and poignant, introspective moments. In the nation’s capital, Fruition’s heartfelt music and genuine performance style created a powerful connection with concertgoers, offering a reminder of music’s ability to unite and move people.
