Dead & Company Debut New Songs on Final Tour in Virginia

The heat of the Final Tour continues! Dead & Company rolled into Jiffy Lube Live in Bristow, VA on Saturday night to continue the red hot jamming and flavors of traditional Dead. A great setlist of original Grateful Dead tunes and several new tour songs filled the sold out capacity amphitheater on a night of perfect weather.

From the moment the boys took the stage, the night was electric. Dead & Company, featuring Bob Weir, John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Mickey Hart, Jay Lane, and Jeff Chimenti, unleashed non-stop energy proving that this final tour will be nothing less than epic. The setlist was a blend of classic Grateful Dead hits, a few favorite covers, and several new songs for the tour – something for both die-hard Dead Heads and newbies.

The stage production and lighting added an extra layer of magic to the performance. The visuals were mesmerizing and tastefully executed, enhancing the overall ambiance without overpowering the music. The synchronized light show beautifully complemented the music’s noodling and fed the infectious energy throughout the entire show. The camaraderie among the Deadhead community, was palpable. Strangers danced together, shared tour stories, and embraced the music as a unifying force -as we have for decades. The sense of belonging and love that permeated the concert was something truly special and will not fade away.

Other than an exceeding long tie up to get into the venue, Jiffy Lube Live provided an excellent venue for the show. The ‘jams’ outside were nearly as long as those onstage. The sound quality was superb, and the outdoor lawn offered ample space for dancing, twirling and an attempt to see what should have been a full moon for the slightly cloudy evening.

The night was a mesmerizing celebration of the timeless music that has captivated generations, yet coming to an end with this final tour. The band’s skillful musicianship, the electrifying atmosphere, and the deep connection with the audience combined to create an unforgettable night of music.
