The Allah-Las performed a mesmerizing three night run at The Chapel in San Francisco, a venue that is a sight to see for any fans of music. The converted chapel has an interior vibe and atmosphere like no other, truly an iconic club based on aesthetic alone in the heart of the vibrant and eclectic Mission District neighborhood. The Allah-Las were a perfect band to celebrate the venue’s ten year anniversary, as the spacey Los Angeles band adds so much texture and color to their songs in the picturesque live setting. When the band kicked into “Busman’s Holiday” on the first night of the run, they were fully locked in and the crowd was right there with them. We really dug their 2019 release, LAHS, and were pleased to see some of the songs make it into the set over the three nights. The band’s sound instantly transports listeners into feeling like they are on a road trip on the coast, sun-breezing in their hair. Can’t think of a more easy breezy California band to help celebrate such a cool venue.
The Chapel’s 10 year anniversary series actually continues with the Beach Fossils (October 17-19), and Built to Spill (November 30 & December 1), plus one-night-only performances with Dry Cleaning (September 20), The King Khan & BBQ Show (October 5), The Chills (October 30), Halloween with Drugdealer (October 31), Moon Duo Presents THE LIGHTSHIP (November 3), Tamaryn (November 4), La Luz (November 11), and Os Mutantes (November 16), with a special NYE residency still to be announced! All shows are presented by (((folkYEAH!))).
