Celebrating twenty years touring this year, Dark Star Orchestra, brings to life not only the music of the Grateful Dead but the full experience. From people outside in the lot selling their tie-dyes and grilled cheese, it makes you feel like you are back in the 60’s and 70’s on tour.
The first time I got to witness the magic that unfolded at a DSO show was on December 2nd, 2002 at Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, PA. It was a snowy Winter night in The Lehigh Valley but in true Deadhead fashion the faithful showed up. This is where it all began for me. From the opening notes of “Promised Land”, I knew that this was not your “normal” Grateful Dead band, but full on magical concert.
On Thanksgiving Eve, the group will grace the stage at Penn’s Peak in Jim Thorpe, PA. Be sure to get your tickets today for what will be a night to remember for the ages.
