Over the past few years bluegrass music has been transitioning from traditional to a more loosened up “jamgrass” feel. Two bands that are on the forefront of the scene are Greensky Bluegrass and Cabinet. The two popular acts will join forces on Saturday, September 17th at the legendary Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY.
Cabinet has been making waves and gaining fans coast-to-coast, with their high energy bluegrass and dynamic live shows. The Scranton, Pennsylvania based group, has a way of segueing seamlessly from bluegrass to a more progressive jamband at a drop of a hat. Over the past decade their strong grassroots following and their dedication to their craft, has made the group a household name.
Forming in 2000 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Greensky Bluegrass is one of the hottest touring acts in the scene today. Their new album “Shouted, Written Down, & Quoted”, to be released on September 23rd, the group gave the nod to legendary producer, Steve Berlin of Los Lobos. The quintet is known for their dynamic live shows and mixing up their night-to-night setlists. In recent shows, they have been treating fans to a taste of their record with the first single, “Take Cover”.
Be sure to get your tickets today to The Capitol Theater show on Saturday, September 17th. It is sure to be a special evening when the Mid-West and Northeast bluegrass share the stage!
