After a strong debut album in 2014, showcasing the five-piece progressive rock band’s diversity of influence, Agori Tribe starts 2015 off strong with “Tiny Tyrant Biggins & The Avant Groove,” also known as simply “Biggins.” The first single from an upcoming full length album of original material, “Biggins” further demonstrates the Memphis-based band’s need to stretch the boundaries of genre and fittingly incorporate a wide range of styles into a single track. The song was produced and recorded by Patrick Moss, and certain tracking was done at Sansing Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. The combination of jazz, fusion and rock and roll makes “Biggins” the ultimate Agori Tribe track, touching on all ends of their spectrum of influences.

“Biggins” will be available for purchase on Agori Tribe’s Bandcamp page starting tomorrow, March 31.

About Agori Tribe:

Founded in 2008 by a few friends with a shared musical interest, Agori Tribe is one of the more unique up-and-coming bands that Memphis, TN, has to offer. The five members of Agori Tribe, Sean Naughton (drums/percussion), Will Nicholls (guitar/samples), David Collins (guitar/keys/percussion), Dave Hash (keys/percussion), and Jeff Naylor (bass), combine their extensive talents to create a truly inventive sound that defies classification. Their music blends elements of psychedelic rock, funk, jazz, reggae, blues and world music to form a one-of-a-kind fusion of sound. It is Agori Tribe’s fearlessness when it comes to experimentation that has led them to become one of the most promising acts to emerge from Memphis in recent years.

The last four years have been a whirlwind of new opportunities for Agori Tribe. From 2011 to 2014, they shared the stage with the likes of PERPETUAL GROOVE, PARTICLE, THE ORIGINAL WAILERS, EARPHUNK, SPANKALICIOUS, ZOOGMA, MOON TAXI, ARCHNEMESIS, ARPETRIO, SUNSQUABI, GRAVITY A, DIRTFOOT and played an official pre show for WIDESPREAD PANIC in Southaven, MS. They also performed at the LUVMUD, Bristerfest, Fools Ball/Fall Ball, M.E.M.Fest and Memphis Music & Heritage music festivals in TN and MS. However, one of their most notable achievements to date is their appearance at the Wakarusa Music Festival in both 2012 and 2013. In the summer of ’13 and ’14, they also embarked on tours that took them to Knoxville, TN, Athens, GA, Asheville, NC, and New Orleans, LA. With other gigs in Nashville, TN, Gulf Shores, AL, Birmingham, AL, Starkville, MS and Chattanooga,TN, in addition to frequent shows in Memphis, Agori Tribe’s following continues to expand.

When they haven’t been busy with live performances, Agori Tribe has also had numerous studio sessions over the last few years, culminating in the release of their debut album, “The Hard Mountain Tradition.” The psychedelic waves are only beginning to set into motion as Agori Tribe continues to dazzle audiences, while they push forward and prepare for bigger things to come.
