“Sweet Tides” Acoustic
This is one of the best videos I’ve come across in recent memory, truly a must listen. This is an outstanding acoustic rendition of “Sweet Tides” which was originally released on Thievery Corporation’s album “Radio Retaliation”. This particular version is a unique version with LouLou on vocals and guitarist Rob Myers of the Thievery Corporation live band as a duo recorded in the backstage stairwell at the House of Blues in Orlando, October 2010. It was made at the request of Kamal Soliman (the Tour Manager) who’s sister wanted to walk down the aisle to it for her wedding a month later. No effects were added, just the reverb from the stairwell. This really captures the true musicianship and outstanding authenticity of the music Thievery creates, the group is living proof that it is possible to garner success in the music industry without compromising quality to fit the norm.
