Sir Lancelot (Martin Barre’s actual middle name!) did not disappoint. Longtime Jethro Tull guitarist was all over the neck of his array of guitars, squeaking and squawking to the sold-out Atlanta crowd’s delight. He performed songs from every era of Tull’s discography from 1968 onward at City Winery, showcasing his signature thunderous progressive rock riffs. Martin’s four-piece band was complemented by guitarist/vocalist Dan Crisp, who provided excellent lead vocals and harmony riffs.
It was also fun to meet and chat with Martin’s wife of 44 years, Julie Barre, who was running the merchandise booth. It was the last gig of the current leg of the 2024 tour of North America and the UK. A fantastic time was had by All! At 77, he has not lost any bit of his tone and precision, catch him in your city!
