This Thursday one of the most eclectic concert bills will be hitting the Nation’s Capital. For nearly two decades The Greyboy Allstars have been creating funky-acid-jazz rock infused with traditional Boogaloo influences, a sound that has made them an international phenomena on the live music circuit.

The group features an all-star cast of musicians including world renowned saxaphonist Karl Denson, B-3 Organ aficianado Robert Walter, film score composer & author Michel Andrews on guitar, Chris Stillwell holding down the end on funk bass, and Aaron Redfield providing the backbone on the drums. The date comes at good time with the group fresh off a string off shows at The Blue Note in New York City & their only date on this leg of the tour with Lance Herbstrong.

Kamal Soliman, Bill Sarver, and Peter DiStefano form the traveling party of genre bending electronic music that is Lance Herbstrong. I’ve heard countless individuals tell me how much these guys deliver in the live setting, particularly after their set at Austin City Limits Music Festival this past fall when they brought up members of Thievery Corporation & Umphrey’s McGee among other acts. For those of you wanting some of that collaborative magic, you will not be missing out.

For the Howard Theatre show Lance Herbstrong will be joined by  members of Thievery Corporation, See-i, and Fort Knox Five including Ashish Vyas (Bass), Rob Myers (Sitar), & Congo Sanchez (Drums). Be sure to get there early to catch a night full of night. Doors open at 7:00 PM show begins at 9:00 PM.
