Richard Lloyd, guitarist of Television, is one of most innovative rock guitarists of the 70s, with his jangly, exploratory style that influenced many including John Frusicante, Jason Isbell, Nels Cline of Wilco, Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth, and countless others.
His work alongside the late Tom Verlaine on Television’s 1977 debut album Marquee Moon is iconic and the tunes “See No Evil” and “Friction” were part of his performance at Atlanta’s Aisle 5. Lloyd played as part of a trio that included the fantastic Sean Seymour on bass and Kevin Tooley on drums. It was great to hear some cuts from his underrated solo career, including 1979’s Alchemy, 1986’s Field of Fire, and his 2018 album, The Countdown.
Lloyd is a musical legend and we are thrilled to see him performing to new and old fans.
