Bag Men’s Scorching Atlanta Debut Performance with Steve Gorman, Luther Dickinson, and Nick Govrik

Photos and Recap by Max Stewart

Move over folks, there’s a new power trio in town. It’s the Bag Men. Featuring Steve Gorman (Black Crowes, Trigger Hippy) on drums, Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi All-Stars, Black Crowes) on guitar, and Nick Govrik (Trigger Hippy) on vocals / bass, these dudes pack a major punch for just three members.

Their debut performance in Atlanta was a sweaty good time on a very steamy Georgia evening, as the fans packed the room to see these elite musicians play together. The set included a number of covers including Al Green’s “I’m A Ram”, The O’Jay’s “Love Train”, and Jimi Hendrix’s “Fire”, and they already have some fantastic originals, including “Boil Away” and “I Can Feel It”.

The sound of Dickinson’s guitar and mind blowing slide guitar prowess, Gorman’s thunderous and song-serving backbone on the kit, and Govrik’s smooth bass lines and vocals make for a stirring combination. Do yourself a favor and check them out on the road!
