Dr. John was the quintessential New Orleans musician, his style being a musical gumbo of funk, R&B, jazz, rock, blues and boogie. Be thankful that we got to share a few years on the planet with the mystical Night Tripper. His voice sounded like it had hundreds of years of history in it, and his piano playing had a touch of that creole grease on every note.
