Grand Point North once again makes the case for being the best music festival in Vermont. In past years, they’ve brought some seriously good acts to the Green Mountain State including The Flaming Lips, Old Crow Medicine Show, The Wood Brothers, Kaleo, Warren Haynes & more.
This year they’ve managed to bring Trey Anastasio & his band back to Burlington for the first time since 2011. In addition, the fest has some strong support slots from Dawes, Mondo Cozmo, Joseph, & a couple LMD personal favorites Hurray for the Riff Raff & Low Cut Connie. Also, notably, is the booking of Tank & the Bangas, the recent NPR Tiny Desk winners.
I’m sure Phantasy tour is chock full of rumors right now, but with the inclusion of TAB, it seems that a Trey/Grace collaboration is eminent. Also, Mike Gordon & Page McConnell, who both still live in the Burlington area, are regular attendees of the festival. Will we get some 3/4 of Phish action on the GPN stage? Only time will tell.
