Pink Talking Fish to perform Stop Making Sense at The Capitol Theatre with members of The Meters, Turkuaz, Deep Banana Blackout, Start Making Sense and Kung Fu
On February 3rd, Pink Talking Fish will be headlining the historic Capitol Theatre for the first time. The band is making this a spectacle by performing a full rendition of The Talking Heads opus “Stop Making Sense” while intertwining Phish & Pink Floyd songs throughout the show. Stop Making Sense is a long album as is, so this performance is going to be a marathon of musical energy.
PTF has enlisted a multitude of special guests to join the band for this musical journey. The roster included funk legend Leo Nocentelli of The Meters, The Turkuaz Horns, Shira Elias & Sammi Garett of Turkuaz, Jen Durkin of Deep Banana Blackout, Jon Braun of Start Making Sense and Adrian Tramontano of Kung Fu.
Reed Mathis & Electric Beethoven featuring Jay Lane, Todd Stoops and Clay Welch will support the night.
This will be a very exciting event. Here are some thoughts about it from PTF Bassist and Founder, Eric Gould:
“Pink Talking Fish has performed a handful of albums in our career but Stop Making Sense has been one that we have been waiting for just the right moment to release. The album itself is a mammoth. Adding Phish and Pink Floyd songs in the mix creates a 3 plus hour show that will challenge the musicians on a deep level.
I played a nonstop 5 ½ hour show at Bonnaroo with Particle in 2003 and, to this day, the experience of that marathon performance remains treasured in my heart and soul. I am so excited to make this event happen with Pink Talking Fish and create an extended live experience involving some of the most exciting songs in music as well as some of our favorite special guests to share the ride!”
