Wilco’s Solid Sound Festival Returns to MASS MoCA!

One of our favorite festivals is Wilco’s Solid Sound. Located at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art in the Berkshires, the entire festival is spread out over the beautiful museum campus– a converted 19th century textile mill full of walk-in art installations, immersive pieces & more. A large stage is set up on the field and smaller stages are set up throughout the campus, nestled inside courtyards, walk-ins, theaters and more. What makes it even more special is that it only happens every other year.

As for the music, it’s all hand-picked by Jeff Tweedy & Wilco themselves (which perhaps explains why all of the band member’s side projects always seem to find a way on the bill ;)). Every year it features an eclectic mix of indie rockers (like Mac DeMarco & Speedy Ortiz), jazzers (like Charles Lloyd & Bill Frisell), folk singers (like Sam Amidon), legends (like Os Mutantes & Levon Helm), plus some surprises like Real Estate performing an improvisational set of music to accompany an abstract video installation.

Suffice it to say, it’s easily one of the “coolest” festivals around.

Tickets are now on sale. Early Bird passes are quite a good deal at $134.
