Last year Live and Listen’s Funksgiving with Robert Randolph was an extraordinary way for the city of Montgomery, AL to ring in the Thanksgiving Holidays. This year Jordan Kirkland and his extraordinary team at Live & Listen are bringing the high energy funk-jam-rock of The Werks to the perform at Montgomery’s Union Station Trainshed downtown. The band has performed at countless venues across the country such as Red Rocks and their own signature “Werk Out” festival.
The entire night will be full of music (over 6 hours) starting with Atlanta’s Dank. After that the The McLovins who have played countless other Live & Listen events will perform. Then around 9:30 The Werks will finish off the night with two full sets of music.
This event supports the noble works of Family Promise of Montgomery and E.A.T. South.

The Werks
The Werks have emerged & established themselves as a band who delivers an electrifying dance party to beloved fans across the musical spectrum. Fusing psychedelic shredding, wailing organ, and slap bass with synthesizers and modern dance beats, their live shows encompass a sensational blend of rock with deep electronic funk.
The seasoned jam-centric quartet brings together a sonically superior mix of otherworldly explorations and revelatory lyrics. Fresh off the 7th incarnation of their “Werk Out Music & Arts Festival”, which draws 5000+ people to Ohio every August, they’ll hit the road once again for a number of headline dates as well as shows supporting peers like Umphrey’s McGee & Moe.
McLovins
Video by Adam Lukowski
McLovins is a soulful, funk-rock band that complements a youthful energy with seasoned musical talent.
Inspired by an eclectic mix of influences like The Meters, The Band and The Flaming Lips, members Jason Ott, Jake Huffman, Justin Berger, and Atticus Kelly combine their songwriting skills with extended improvisations and instrumental ingenuity.
Taking a page from their jam band forefathers, McLovins always try to keep their audiences guessing at what’s to come. Their eclectic setlists and individual musical personas define the band’s live shows. Hailing from Hartford, Connecticut, McLovins have appeared at Gathering of The Vibes, Mountain Jam, The Peach Festival and the legendary Nateva Music Festival, as well as many acclaimed venues across the country. They have also performed with some of the most influential artists on the scene, including Buddy Guy, George Porter, Jr. and Oteil Burbridge.
Recently the band cut an album with Emmy, Grammy, and Tony award winning producer Bill Sherman in New York City’s East Village. The album was released this October and the band is currently on tour. The band continues to evolve, bringing their distinctive, jam-rock productions across the country. Every tour brings a unique energy.
