Thursday night Pigeons Playing Ping Pong threw down a set starting at midnight at Big Something’s Big WHAT? festival in Mebane, NC with the likes of The Werks, Turkuaz, Zach Deputy, People’s Blues of Richmond, and more. Just earlier this month the Baltimore based band saw themselves playing at Merryland Music Festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion rocking a great set among artists like Ben Harper, Grace Potter, Greensky Bluegrass and many others.
Over the past few years Pigeons Playing Ping Pong have garnered a loyal following of flockers across the country. They’re one of the quickest growing jambands in the mid-atlatnic, and with great reason.

The band carries the undeniable love of improvisation that has continued to keep the jam community alive and well after so many years. Tonight they’ll be hitting the Norva in Norfolk,VA.
Like Pigeons who is a great rising talent, another band is emerging on our radar, the Trongone Band from Richmond, VA. They’re one of our favorite acts out of the DC, Maryland, and Virginia music scene noted for a seemingly straight forward rock n roll sound that twists with the world of country music twang and psychedelia of the 60s. In fact the band just returned from an incredible tour in Italy.
Kicking off the night will the electronic duo, Hubble Bash.
They started out with a simple DJ-drum act and have since progressed into much more, performing with acts like: Elliot Lipp, Flosstrodamus, SOJA, EOTO, Former Champions, The Mantras,Dr Fameus (of The Disco Biscuits, Orchard Lounge, Elmakay, Big Something, Papadosio, and many more.
