I.R.E. 4_20-2

Atlanta based funk-rock-reggae band I.R.E. is set to release their sophomore album, Turn On on April 20th, 2016. In 2014, I.R.E. began working on their second album and thoughtfully began crafting the concept behind it. They wanted to keep the originality of their roots while also expanding their sound and style. New talent brought this vision to life: sitin bassist Trent Gilson became a permanent member, along with newcomers keyboardist Michael Crowe, Saxophonist Tim Fash, and drummer Kyle Watkins.

THE BAND HAS SERIOUSLY CREATED THEIR OWN GENRE! THEY HAVE INCREDIBLE VOCALS, PLAYING ABILITY, STAGE PRESENCE, AND ARE JUST GREAT PEOPLE.”

– KIMBERLY JAMES, PRESIDENT/FOUNDER CBM RECORDS, GEORGIA MUSIC AWARDS HEAD OF ROCK AND COUNTRY PRODUCTION

2015 Gave I.R.E. significant onstage exposure as the opened for major acts such as The Wailers, Lee “Scratch” Perry, The Dirty Heads, and Sticky Fingers. They have performed at Atlanta’s newest premier venue Terminal West (capacity 650) and a soldout Heaven stage at The Masquerade (Capacity 1,000). Their second studio album features guest appearances by Eric Benny Bloom (Lettuce and The Shady Horns), and Evan Oberla (O.A.R.).

On April 20th, 2016 the band is hosting an album release party at Smiths Olde Bar featuring Sonic Bloom, Partials, Dr. Strangelove, Professor John, Distopia, and The Reality Kings. Sonic Bloom is led by Grammy Award Winning Trumpter Eric Bloom along with Nigel Hall, Adam Smirnoff, Alvin Ford Jr., and Eric Vogel. Go to the show to be one of the first to own your copy of Turn On!

Tickets for the show tonight (April 20th) are available here.

Sonic Bloom

Sonic Bloom is a New Orleans based R&B/Funk band led by trumpeter and vocalista, Eric Bloom. Since May 2014, Sonic Bloom quickly gained popularity among local New Orleans music fans and musicians alike. One might attribute their fast rise on the scene due to the all-star cast of musicians Bloom has assembled but more importantly, it is the hi-octane energetic show which they put on every time they get together which makes this band a “must see”.

Sonic Bloom is comprised of Eric “Humph” Vogel on bass(Fred Wesley & Big Sam’s Funky Nation), Andrew “Florida’s Finest” Block on guitar(Gramatik), Alvin “Le Boi” Ford Jr. on drums(Dumpstphunk & Dirty Dozen), Nigel “Brother Numpsay” Hall on keyboards/vocals(John Scofield, Lettuce & Warren Haynes), & Eric “Benny” Bloom on trumpet/vocals(Pretty Lights, Shady Horns & Lettuce).

We’re a band. And what we care about most is introducing you to new music.

We’re recording a song every two weeks. We dig up thousands of musics and put them in a very small cauldron. Much of what goes in is psychedelic and danceable. Much of what comes out is ocean noise, but we’re working hard to make it something you’ll like.

If you’re curious, we handmade our website so you can talk to us. It’s partials.com.

We started being a band about a year and a half ago in Athens, Georgia. It took a long time to decide what we wanted to do. We realized you can do anything, but you can’t do everything.

That didn’t stop us from trying, though. All of us play at least two things in the band. Sometimes more. Everyone percusses. It’s a lot of things.

Not doing everything is harder than we expected.
