On this first day of the Festival of Lights, Brooklyn’s reigning soul kings and queen have delivered a brand new video for their ode to the holiday,“8 Days (Of Hanukkah).” The animated clip for the lead track on Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings’ new holiday album It’s A Holiday Soul Party was directed by Rich Terrana, and can be seen below.

It’s A Holiday Soul Party is the first holiday album from the Grammy-nominated soul band. It features 11 original and traditional holiday songs and is out now on Daptone Records. The record follows their Grammy-nominated 2014 albumGive The People What They Want and features original tracks like “Big Bulbs” and their classic “Ain’t No Chimneys In The Projects.” Look for Sharon & the band to perform on television this week in support of the album, including appearances onConan, The Late Show & Michael Bublé’s holiday special, Christmas in Hollywood.
There is no other band around today that plays with the rhythm, feeling, or explosive power of the Dap-Kings. Since releasing their first album in 2002, the band has performed all over the world, had tremendous success on TV and Sharonhas collaborated with some of music’s biggest names including David Byrne and Michael Bublé.
