San Diego-based recording artist, songwriter and bandleader Karl Denson and his band the Tiny Universe (otherwise known as KDTU) have just announced the second leg of their Fantastic Fall Tour 2015. The ten-date November run features shows around the West Coast, including five nights in northern California and three nights in the Pacific Northwest. KDTU will share the bill with Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers in Arcata, Eugene, Portland and Seattle. They’ll conclude the tour in Las Vegas with two late night Dead & Company after-party performances at Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas.

Karl Denson is fast approaching musical icon status. From his history as a founding member of seminal boogaloo revivalists Greyboy Allstars to a string of acclaimed modern jazz records in the ‘90s to his current band, the hard-touring, funk-rock juggernaut Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, the man is among the most prolific and hardest working artists in music today.

As if all that wasn’t enough, Denson is an acclaimed and highly in-demand saxophonist who first came to national attention as a member of Lenny Kravitz‘s Let Love Rule-era band and currently holds down tenor saxophone duties in the greatest rock ’n’ band in the world, The Rolling Stones.Karl Denson’s most recent recording, New Ammo, showcases the grittier side of the Tiny Universe’s musical oeuvre, including stand outs like “My Baby” featuring singer Nicki Bluhm, “Everybody Knows That” and his raucous rendition of The White Stripes “Seven Nation Army.” The album has received wide acclaim: All Music declared the effort, “easily their most musically adventurist album yet,” while DownBeat praised it as “music for both the party and for fans of instrumental prowess.”
