Greensky took the stage at Delfest after easily being one of the most talked about bands in bluegrass, and definitely music for the wrong reasons; the fact they didn’t get to perform at Dear Jerry alongside RRE. Well both bands are at Delfest and you can bet they’ll be getting their allocated time slot.

With the spirit of Jerry, they opened their set with a beautiful “Eyes of the World”. A perfect song for them to cover, they’ve rarely covered it, and the possibilities were endless. Solos soared back and forth between Phoffman and Bont using some appropriate Dead-esque pedal effects creating the space for some inspiring jams. The crowd reaction throughout the song was that of awe, excitement, and elation. Adding Devol to the lyrics make the chorus truly harmonized, much like the dead would have done. The chorus to Eyes of the World was heard so loud across the mountains, and the valley that is Delfest, and the weekend is just getting started. What a perfect way to end the first day at Delfest and get the party rolling. #deardel indeed!
