According to a recent post by Jambands.com, there is some method to the madness for all the performances at Dear Jerry this Thursday May 14th at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia,MD.
The article cites an interview from Monday night’s “Tales of the Golden Road” episode. Rumors had been floating around for awhile about the house band and who would/would not be included. The first set will feature full bands and the second set will feature artists celebrating the life of Jerry alongside the backing house band.
Another article mentioned is one in which Bill Kreutzmann (drums) discusses the possibility of the core 4 reuniting for a song at MPP. Read the WashingtonPost article (here).

The show will feature two sets, with the first set showcasing full bands like Widespread Panic and Railroad Earth, and the second set focusing on individual artists. Those artists will be backed by a house band that includes guitarists Audley Freed and Buddy Miller, drummer Raymond Weber, keyboardist Matt Rollings, bassist Don Was and backing vocalists the McCrary Sisters. Wortman also confirmed that, “for the most part,” each artist will be doing one song, though there will be “a handful of folks doing more than one song, and yes, there’ll be some very unique sit-ins and duets and collaborations throughout the night.”
