This Friday (May 8th) the beautiful city of Tampa, FL will host two very talented progressive and experimental geniuses of music , Tauk and Displace. The exponential trajectory of Tauk in the past 12 months is among the most notable in the live music community. This band has the “IT” factor. They have racked up numerous tour accolades, but some of the ones I recall best were the dates with Umphrey’s and the tour with Dopapod (another of the fastest growing acts on the scene). They will be joined by Florida natives, Displace, a rising jam act that recently performed at Gasparilla Music Festival. Definitely check out their latest studio effort, Eureka!, if you’ve not had the pleasure of exploring Displace before.
LiveMusicDaily is pleased to team up with these stellar artists and Brokenmold Ent. for the event.
Tauk

For Tauk, there is no talk, and sometimes that leaves people asking, “Why don’t they have a singer?”. While I can’t speak for the band I’d like to think it is because when an instrument is played correctly it can be just as expressive as the human voice. In some ways it has the potential to leave more open to interpretation to the listener along the audio voyage. The four man lineup offers filthy gut wrenching rock n roll with a taste for improvisational exploration. This live energy was captured in their critically acclaimed release last Summer, Collisions, which saw the band working with Grammy Winning Producer Robert Carranza (Mars Volta, Jack Johnson).
Check back later this week for an interview with Tauk.
About Tauk:
Displace
For those of you in love with the Florida live music scene you’re probably already familiar with these upcoming FL stars. Their music is beginning to spread across the Southeast music community and they’re increasingly sought after to offer support for some top-notch acts on the scene. This summer will see the band focusing more on their next studio efforts so get out and see them this Spring while they’re still regularly performing during the week and throwin’ it down on the weekends.

About Displace:

They also completed their first multi-state tour in August which included their first out-of-state festival at Soulshine Music Festival outside of Asheville, NC. 2015 has started off strong with out of state shows and an appearance at Gasparilla Music Festival sharing the stage with acts like Modest Mouse, Mute Math and Gogol Bordello. The band also released their self produced, debut album, “Eureka!” on April 10th to a packed house at Crowbar, in their hometown of Tampa!
