By Randy Harris

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee and inspired by the works of Carlos Santana, Ed Wynne (Ozric Tentacles), Iron Maiden, Joe Satriani and the sounds of downbeat electronica, jazz, reggae and more, Windhorse is the brainchild of Dirk Singleton. He began this solo project of his in 2000, but Windhorse has only played live once since early 2003. After leaving the project lost in his past for many years, Singleton has returned to Windhorse with a renewed strength and energy to pursue his true passion. With only 6 days left, Windhorse needs your help to push its debut album Into the Now into production.

Live Music Daily’s Ragin’ Randy Harris has personally backed and supported this project. From the previews in the Kicstarter campaign and on Windhorse’s website, the music incorporates aspects of all of Singleton’s influences. The result yields a psychedelic instrumental rock experience that feels grounded and earthy, yet still allows the mind to lift off and get lost in the music. We hope we can count on your help to make this project 14 years in the making a reality.

The funds generated will be used in the following manner:

$2500 for 2 time grammy winning mix engineer John Seymour- U2 “Walk On”(mix) and Dave Matthews/Carlos Santana “Love of My Life”(engineer). John knows his stuff!

$1300 for live session drummer. The tracks will “breathe” properly with a real human on drums.

$800 for live brass, performed by Darryl Dixon, who’s credits include George Clinton/Parliament, The Police and many more. Digital horns lack depth and character and I want the sound to be just right for you ears and mine.

$300-500 for mastering. This will provide a truly professional finished product.

$600 for CD duplication

$400 for T-shirts

$200 for posters
