Asheru | GMU Special Event

To speak at GMU

& World Premiere of New Live Footage

Asheru released his new album “Sleepless In Soweto” on Tuesday November 12th, 2013 to a worldwide audience and fanbase. The press and radio stations jumped on board with great reviews and tons of radio play across North America. In fact, “Sleepless In Soweto” hit #1 on both the Rap Attack and Rapnetwork Radio Charts, and #4 on the CMJ Rap Chart, where it stayed in the top ten for over a month.

Asheru recently toured South Africa and performed in the Kennedy Center’s “One Mic Festival”, a 2 week celebration of Hip Hop Culture Worldwide presented by Arts Across America and the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

As an educator, performer, curriculum writer, activist and the voice of the Boondocks TV Show theme song, Asheru is uniquely qualified to speak about the progress made in the 60 years since the landmark Supreme Court ruling “Brown vs Board of Education” from 1954.
