Daft Phunk Tour Kicks Off this Week

Earphunk is ready to funk you into 2014 the right way, kicking the year off with the year with a string of dates that will include the infamous Daft Phunk set. This set has been well received at venues & festivals including Wakarusa Music Festival this past summer, returning once again due to fan demand!

Since Fall of 2009 we have been following the fast paced growth and progression of Earpunk. Believing from the early days that they had the raw organic funksmanship of Nola’s finest musicians. These skills translate into high energy concerts with an in your face funk attitude. Blending progressive funk, jam, jazz, electronic & rock influences you’ll find it hard to not surrender to the groove from one of the best rising talents from the Crescent City. -LMD

The band has managed to grow and develop their own unique sound at a rapid pace in just a couple of years leaving them in the realm of some of my favorite Nola acts; The Meters, The Neville Brothers, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Papa Grows Funk, Flow Tribe, Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk, Rebirth Brass Band, and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, among other Crescent City bands. While some of these acts are still touring, some are turning the page as new musical exploration is pursued (for example Papa Grows Funk’s upcoming hiatus). Earphunk will be a driving youthful force in the continuation and preservation of New Orleans music that is enjoyed at a national level.

Last year they managed to tour extensively throughout the United States stopping in 140 different cities in the past 12 months including some top notch festivals including Purple Hatter’s Ball and Bear Creek Music Festival.
