Announces “Band Experiences” at Riviera Maya
& adds Del McCoury to NYE
SCI recently added some more string-pickin’ fun to their NYE Dec.31st show at the First Bank Center in Denver, CO with their friends the Del McCoury Band. This is sure to add some more interesting sit-ins for what is sure to be an amazing NYE run. Yesterday announced a “Band Experiences” package to hangout with the band and members of The Motet. The package is available to for fans who already have tickets to International Incident in Riviera Maya, Mexico at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera taking place Feb.19-24, 2014.
When we started 20 years ago, it was bluegrass that filled the setlists. We are over the top excited to announce that the most awarded bluegrass band in history will open and play with us on New Year’s Eve. THE DEL MCCOURY BAND is joining us on December 31st to celebrate 20 years of The String Cheese Incident. Del and the boys have been welcomed guests at many Incidents in the past, and we’re thrilled to have them on hand for our big night on NYE!
Nearly 20 years ago, a “bluegrass” band formed in the small ski towns of the Colorado Rockies. Two decades later, The String Cheese Incident will kick off their 20th Anniversary Celebration with a 3-night New Year’s run at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, CO. This will be the ultimate celebration of the life of the band, highlighted by special guest appearances, vintage relics from SCI’s past, and more!
In addition, BOOTSY COLLINS will perform on 12/28, THE FLAMING LIPS will now perform a special set on 12/29, and KARL DENSON & CHRIS LITTLEFIELD (TINY UNIVERSE HORNS) will be on hand for both the 28th & 29th. One can only imagine the musical collaborations that will come out of these epic Incidents.
As an added bonus, all ticket buyers will receive a download code good for a free remastered MP3 of the band’s very first cassette tape. This old school album features early recordings of 11 classic SCI songs.
