Live at Eighteenth Street Lounge
Every Wednesday for the past seven years See-i has been rocking at the infamous Reggae Night at Eighteenth Street Lounge in Washington’s Dupont Circle. Sometimes you are at show & just simply have to capture the action by any means possible, which is exactly what I did at a late July See-i performance. This is one hell of a medley that is well worth watching, enjoy!
Lead vocalists Rootz and Zeebo (Thievery Corporation) bring intense stage presence reminescent of Parliament Funkadelic, creating a non-stop throw down party on stage. Rob Myers (Fort Knox Five, Thievery Corp, Thunderball, & International Velvet) plays hard funk rock alongside reggae-heavy bass lines from Ashish Vyas (Thievery Corp.) The groups sound is rounded out by Salem Steele on Keys, multi-instrumentalist Jeff Franca (Thievery Corp., Congo Sanchez) behind the drum kit, Javier Miranda on percussion (Empresarios), Frank Mitchell (Thievery Corp., FM Trio) ripping the sax, and vocalist Candice Mills. The group is frequently joined on Wednesdays by guest MC Flex Mathews.
