Mumford & Sons Ramp Things up in Milwaukee – Review and Photos

Review and Photos by Stephen Bloch

The first time Mumford & Sons made a full tour of the US was in 2010. They were selling out 1000-2500 seat theaters and getting a lot of buzz for their debut album Sigh No More They were making appearances on late night television and then became a staple at pretty much every music festival.  Over the last 15 years they have steadily progressed into an arena act and are still selling out everywhere but now they have pyrotechnics.  Not something you’d expect from a folk rock band.

On Friday night at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum the band played a robust set of music from their whole career.  They are touring in support of their 2025 release RUSHMERE.  The band was well aware of an extraneous distraction that was taking place: a Milwaukee Brewers’ playoff game.  When the team clinched, the band paused, made note, and then got back to work.

The Barr Brothers along with Stephen Sanchez opened the show. This is a band that has held true to their musical form but has still elevated their performance and sound.  A must see act!
