We love festivals here at LMD, particularly the hidden gems, like Grace Potter’s Grand Point North in Burlington, VT. We’ve been covering this festival for a few years now and it always seems to remind us why we love live music. Whether its Marco Benevento covering Harry Nilsson during a sun-shower, The War on Drugs blowing people’s minds just weeks after releasing their smash record “Lost in a Dream,” or Grace bringing out Mike Gordon, Kat Wright, Ryan Miller (of Guster) & Kenny Chesney for a late night sing-a-long, there’s nothing quite like the magic that happens at Burlington’s Waterfront Park.
And this year promises to be even more special. For the first time in VT history, Grace & Trey are sharing a bill. That’s right, the two biggest Vermont exports aside from craft beer & cheese, on the same ticket. We’re hoping for — scratch that, expecting– a sit in. Or three.
Grace & her band will headline the fest on Saturday, per usual, then on Sunday, to mix things up, Grace will play an hour and a half, then make way for Trey Anastasio Band to close things out with a full 2-hour set.
Suffice it to say, we’re ready to rock.
