The Hip Abduction Bring Tropical-Indie to DC at U-Street Music Hall on Thursday, July 20th

The Hip Abduction will be coming to D.C. for a performance at U Street Music Hall on July 20th. The St. Petersburg, FL ensemble is known for their high-energy, emphatically danceable shows that combine West African instrumentation (specifically, the kamale ngoni) with dub bass lines, reggae rhythms, and indie pop acumen.

The Hip Abduction have been steadily skyrocketing since the release of their album Gold Under The Glow (March 2016). Praises from High Times, JamBase, Consequence of Sound, and many more continue to roll in as their song “Come Alive” receives heavy rotation on SiriusXM. Earlier this year, the band performed at Jam Cruise, Sweetwater 420 Fest, Summercamp, and Red Rocks, they just played both weekends of Electric Forest, and are slated for additional festival performances including moe.down, and Floydfest this summer.

Recently, the tropical-indie group released a new acoustic version of their song “Holiday” .
